Why These New ima Saltwater Colors Were Designed for American Waters

When it comes to saltwater fishing, color selection is never one-size-fits-all. The forage, water clarity, and regional fishing styles vary across the United States, which is exactly why ima USA set out to develop a new collection of colors specifically for American anglers.

Working closely with the ima Japan design team, the USA staff helped create eight new saltwater colors inspired by local baitfish, proven regional favorites, and real-world fishing conditions. The result is a lineup designed to give anglers more confidence no matter where they fish.

Developed for American Waters

Rather than simply introducing new paint schemes, the goal was to expand the existing lineup with colors tailored to U.S. fisheries—from natural baitfish patterns to high-visibility options for stained water and low-light conditions.

Each color reflects feedback gathered from anglers fishing both the East and West Coasts, then refined through ima Japan’s lure design expertise.
