The Second Hard Lure from FISHMAGNET
While the TYGAN—which launched the FISHMAGNET brand—is a pencil bait designed for rapidly covering water, the BAKON!! represents the complete opposite. Though you still fish it on the surface, Takuma Hata wanted to incorporate two essential FISHMAGNET requirements: exceptional casting distance and the ability to draw fish out of specific locations using the “explosive sound” (bakon!!) characteristic of a popper. Development began by using a frog lure he had already designed.

Featuring a unique silhouette that sets it apart from conventional poppers, this lure has a large air chamber at the rear, housing a strategically placed weight.This design achieves a weight of 16.5g (.58 ounces) within a compact 75mm body.
To further enhance casting distance, we added a “dimple” finish, inspired by a golf ball’s design.During the cast, the lure encounters “drag,” a force acting in the direction opposite of its movement.Minimizing this drag is the key to the best performance.
These dimples disperse the airflow across the body’s surface, delaying the “separation point”—the moment the airflow breaks away from the body.As a result, the vortices that form behind the object—which are a primary source of drag—are kept to a minimum, reducing overall air resistance.
This design also enhances stability during the cast, contributing significantly not only to the object’s ability to cast a long way, but also to its high level of accuracy.

A high-decibel "call-up"
Instead of searching for fish, you “call” them in.To do that, we placed special emphasis on sound.
Whether performing a “walk the dog,” a “pop,” or a “splash”—the three primary actions—the lure produces an intense popping sound.
Unlike the TYGAN, which is designed to search a wide area, this lure can “call up” fish from deep water and draw them to a precise, targeted spot on the surface.
