FISH MAGNET GOOBUM
A Distinct Profile and Action Soaring Through the Water
The key concept behind Takuma Hata’s design was the evolving behavioral patterns of bass that have shifted in recent years.
Recent trends indicate that bass feed on prey in the middle of the water column more and more.
By taking this into account and examining wide-profile worms, Hata developed the GOOBUM: a “profile shaped like no other” designed to be fished in the middle of the water column.
The movement of the bait will give you goosebumps, and GOOBUM is an abbreviation for goosebumps.
The GOOBUM has a unique body shape with a knife tail, a forked tail, and arms on the side. Every appendage grips water even with the slightest movement, generating vibrations that radiate a strong presence.
During the prototype development phase, the entire development team—including Takuma Hata—was so impressed by the sight of its movement that they actually got goosebumps; this experience is precisely why it was named “GOOBUM.”
The intricate, lifelike action it produces when retrieved is truly the spitting image of a bird soaring through the open sky.
Lower Components: Brake & Stabilizer
Located on the ventral side of the body is a “lower section” for inserting rattles or nail weights, allowing for a wide range of customization for the conditions. Beyond this, the lower section also acts as both a brake and a stabilizer when fished weightless, ensuring the body maintains a steady, wobble-free posture.
During “jig-stroking” retrieves, the combination of deep, joint-like ribs and the substantial mass of the lower section generates a powerful, whip-like action that strikes the water with exceptional force, thereby maximizing the full potential of this high-impact technique.
