When Takuma Hata launched his own lure brand, FISH MAGNET, he wanted to catch fish on lures that he created. “What I valued most was catching fish on my creations,” he said.
This helped him rediscover the greatest thrill of lure fishing. “It’s fun to cast and fun to control,” he said. “It’s satisfying to catch a few when you aim for it with a long cast.”
The TYGAN 90 is the first product that embodies that vision. Initially, it was machined to a 100mm size, then prototypes were made in the 90mm and 115mm sizes. It all started as an idea.
The body shape and weight distribution enable overwhelming casting distance
Anyone can throw it easily and accurately, sending it far away. Even after flying through the air on a long cast, the bait’s responsiveness increases its chances of attracting fish as it starts working properly right away.
The increased casting distance is the greatest benefit of TYGAN. For Hata, the “overwhelming distance” was the most important factor in designing the bait.
The body’s shape, both front and rear, features smooth curves and pointed edges to minimize air resistance. The design also placed the weight at the rear of the bait, as far back as possible, to maintain balance during the cast and for the lure’s action.
The sound is produced by the bait, and it sounds like the tapping of a flat surface
The walk-the-dog action is an important feature of pencil baits, and the bait walks very well because the sides of the body are flat at the front and more rounded in the rear. When working the bait, the flat front strikes the surface, creating a great sound that blends splashing and popping.
When working the bait, dome-shaped bubbles will form as it moves across the surface. Also, the flat shape of the bait’s belly helps to reduce how far it darts to each side. These short turns and the sound are almost like you are playing a musical instrument when you work the lure. This makes it possible to get the most out of TYGAN’s unique action that appeals to predator fish.
Strength designed for all fish species
The inspiration for the development of TYGAN came from an expedition to the Amazon. This lure is effective not only for freshwater black bass but also for freshwater and saltwater fish worldwide.
We target all fish species.
Because it’s for all species, the body needs to be strong enough to withstand the jaws and teeth of powerful fish. The bait features an eight-ring design that can withstand thicker hooks.
Even if you change the hook size, the action will remain the same as the original. It was designed with a balanced structure that allows the hooks to be held securely, making it suitable for a variety of fish species.
Shooting Star Eyes
The origin of the lure name TYGAN is the greatest feature: its overwhelming casting distance, which seems to reach all the way to the opposite shore.
“Fulfilling the Angler’s Dream”
It was named based on these two meanings.
The eye design on the lure body is meant to symbolize “fulfillment of great wishes.”
The design is a shooting star called “Shooting Star Eyes”.
