ZERO INCH-WACKY

The “Shot Wacky” technique was pioneered from the shoreline of Lake Biwa in Japan by a regional angler, but rapidly gained national recognition through social media as a game-changing rig. This innovative approach emerged from the concept of inserting a “ZAPP Soft Shot” onto a drop shot hook, which was then meticulously refined into the optimal equilibrium known as the “Zero Inch-Wacky.”

Unlike traditional Inch-Wacky setups, this rig involves positioning both the worm and weight much closer together, resulting in a subtle yet captivating micro-vibrating motion that requires minimal displacement. Importantly, the hook remains suspended above the bottom structure, cutting down the risk of entanglement.

The direction and angle of the hook eye, allows for adeptness at navigating through and over structures. In conjunction with the strategic tungsten weight placement, the “Shot Wacky” rig significantly mitigates the likelihood of snagging. This enhancement in design proves particularly advantageous when fishing your wacky rig in rocky areas.

Creates “Micro Vibrations” to entice the finickiest of bass.
A specialized hook leading the “Shot Wacky” technique.

  • We focused our efforts to perfecting the wire guard, aiming to strike the right balance between preventing hang ups and effective hooking.

  • Uses Japanese made RYUGI’s “Fog Shot TC” finesse hook for its strength and hooking ability.

  • We experimented over and over for optimal placement of the weight to induce micro-vibrations and prevent the hook from tilting sideways.  This left us the remarkable capability to navigate through vegetation and structure with minimal hangups.
